JERRY BARKSDALE

Jerry Barksdale is a retired trial lawyer from Athens, Alabama. Reared on a cotton farm, he graduated from University of Alabama School of Law in 1967. In his 43-year career he tried thousands of cases including capital murder, murder, bank robbery, kidnapping, medical malpractice, products liability lawsuits, land-line
disputes and too many divorces to remember. In 1984, while spending the summer in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, he began writing. He is a founding member of the Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives, and sits on the board of directors. He is a columnist for Athens New Courier and Athens Now. His first book, When Duty Called, is a collection of World War II stories. He is the author of Cornbread Chronicles, Duty, The Fuhrer Document and Revolutionaries and Rebels, a historical novel, and is currently working on Trial Within.
