Kathryn Brown Ramsperger's debut novel The Shores Of Our Souls takes the reader on a journey of discovery – blending the story-telling traditions of Southern literature with the intrigue of the developing world.  Kathryn is the winner of her alma mater Hollins University's Fiction Award. Her work also placed as finalist in novel, novel-in-progress, short story, and poetry categories in the Faulkner-Wisdom Competition.  The Shores of Our Souls won a Foreword Indies award for multicultural fiction and an America’s Best Book Award. 
 A former journalist, Kathryn's articles appeared in newspapers, National Geographic and Kiplinger publications, and more recently online, in thoughtcatalog.com, Yahoo! Parenting, psychcentral.com, yourtango.com, and thegoodmenproject.com. Her short stories have appeared in numerous journals, the most recent being The MacGuffin. Kathryn also worked as Publications Director for the International Red Cross & Red Crescent in Geneva, Switzerland, overseeing around 200 publications in four languages annually, traveling throughout Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.  She gets her creative inspiration from summers on South Carolina's front porch swings and her impetus from the people she meets on her travels. She currently lives in Maryland with her husband. They have two adult children.
